The American Public Works Association (APWA) recently announced Suzette Robinson (City of Evanston’s Public Works Director) as the newest recipient of the 2012 Charles Walter Nichols Award for Environmental Excellence. She was presented with the award for the Department’s Thinking G.R.E.E.N. (Greater Recycling in Every Evanston Neighborhood) initiative. Thinking G.R.E.E.N was the Evanston Public Works Department’s campaign to increase recycling education and awareness, and to show residents appreciation for their recycling efforts.
